Nowdays It is universal trade that mortality decrease, the aged increase Because of development of science and medical skill. The people who have chronic disease above 65 years old need long term care than intensive cure.
They are average 74 years old, most of them have more over two chronic disease. So It was necessary to understand a specialist who can deal with the old, know aging process, adult chronic disease in adult day care center.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the problems in adult day care center, to grasp the management state.
Concrete purpose of this study are as follow.
1) To find out a scale of adult day are center
2) To find out client's characteristics
3) To find out financial sources
4) To find out service program
5) To find out manpower in day care center
Research method was combined previous studies with survey day care centers. Subjects were day care centers in Seoul City. This study continued from July 1998 through October 1998. Data were collected by questionnaire, visiting and telephone.
Data was analized by simple frequency distribution and content analysis.
The results were even if clients in adult day care center were average 74 year old people who have chronic disease, It is lack of professional manpower who is right for the elderly. So It was needed proper expert to understand the elderly in day care center.
